Mental Health Counseling That Works For You

Choosing a counselor is a major step,
here are what sessions with me look like:

Intake Session

Starting the therapeutic process can be difficult. How do you weigh your options between what you want, what you'll need, and what's offered?

I completely understand how overwhelming the search for a therapist can be, and when you reach out I will be glad to meet for a complimentary 15 minute consultation call to get to know you and your needs before setting up a first 60 minute intake appointment.

At the intake session, my job is to go over initial questions with you to get a better understanding of what’s been going on for you both currently and historically. I'll also assign a diagnosis at the end of the intake or start of your second session reflective of your symptoms, situation, and diagnostic criteria.

Finally, our first session will be a chance to ascertain what you’d like to work on in subsequent sessions as well as how frequently we will meet.

60-minute Therapy Appointment

After you've attended your intake appointment I will schedule upcoming therapy appointments with you at times that suit your schedule and needs.

These are typically 60 minute appointments where we'll work on your therapeutic goals including psychoeducation (education on your diagnosis and coping strategies), skill building, discernment of your guiding values, and exploration of your history as it relates to the present day.

My goal is that you emerge from these sessions feeling more yourself and even if challenging content has been processed that you notice that your sessions are starting to ignite some sense of hopefulness about where you're at & where you're going in life.

You are an individual and your treatment should reflect that. I will work with you towards self-understanding, improved communication, resource building-- whatever it is that is your goal for therapy overall.
